New in Pictures: Serena Williams produces flaunts as she arrives for Wimbledon practice

Serena Williams produced a vintage display at Wimbledon on Monday, hitting winners with ease and serving with venom as she stepped up her preparations for the Championships, which start next week.

The 23-time Grand Slam champion showed no sign of the hamstring injury that forced her to retire from last month’s French Open final, as she dominated her practice session with partner Ons Jabeur.

Williams, 40, is aiming to win a record-equalling 24th Grand Slam singles title at Wimbledon, where she has triumphed seven times.

She has been drawn in the same half as top seed Iga Swiatek and could face the world number one in the semi-finals.

But Williams will be confident of her chances after a strong performance on Monday.

She hit a series of powerful forehands and backhands, and her serve was also on song.

Williams also showed off her trademark determination and focus, as she chased down every ball and refused to give up on any point.

Jabeur, who is the reigning Madrid Open champion, was also impressive in practice.

The Tunisian hit some stunning shots and showed why she is one of the most exciting players on the WTA Tour.

Williams and Jabeur will both be hoping to make a deep run at Wimbledon this year.

Williams is aiming to win her first Grand Slam title since the 2017 Australian Open, while Jabeur is hoping to become the first Arab woman to reach a Grand Slam final.

The Championships start on Monday, June 27.
